The LCWMD is excited to announce a new round of funding for the Private BMP Incentive Program.
The Private BMP Incentive Program provides financial assistance to Participating Landowners that invest in activities that will improve water quality in Long Creek. Eligible project examples include: structural stormwater BMPs such as gravel wetlands, underdrained soil filters, vegetated swales, and rain gardens; establishment or enhancement of vegetated buffers to capture and filter stormwater; stream and wetland protection or restoration; heated sidewalks and implementation of snow removal practices or acquisition of snow removal equipment that will result in reduced salt use; and good housekeeping and pollution prevention projects. Details concerning the program can be found in the Request for Proposals on LCWMD’s website.
LCWMD has $295,000 allocated to this program for fiscal year 2022 (July 2, 2021 to June 30, 2022). Awards are for up to 75% of project costs, with a cap of $50,000, so funding can be allocated to as many projects within the watershed as possible.
An optional Informational Conference will be held at 1:00 PM on August 3, 2021 via Zoom. Interested participating landowners should contact LCWMD’s Executive Director, Peter Carney, at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 4:00 PM on August 2, 2021 to request the Zoom link. The Zoom link will be sent no later than 5:00p.m. on August 2, 2021 to all interested parties.
Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis beginning at 9:00 AM on August 17, 2021, continuing until the allocated funds are exhausted.
